At first sight, this photo doesn't seem to be original : an overall minimalistic colouring in different shades of green and yellow, a dandelion not even placed in the center of the image, in the middle of grass blades, maybe to emphasize that this flower is nothing special.
Yet, the work can fascinate with it's conception : the blurred backround stresses the flower and accentuates certain grass blades, and the different shades of green create depth in which the flower integrates so well. The slightly bent vertical blades are in harmony with the horizontal idea of the shot in landscape format and the dandelion's petals, creating a vision of movement like of a soft wind.
The question risen by the blurred parts : Is this just photography or did we cross the line to photomanipulation?
In any case, the strength of this photo in all its simplicity proves the title to be wrong : This is not just a "common" dandelion, but a wonderful piece of art, able to make us feel the soft breeze of an uncommonly warm day in spring.
