I like the bug, and the depth of field makes it look even smaller. The soft colours are wonderful and go well with the narrow depth of field. Your choice of subject and colour catch the eye.

I find it hard to comment on originality, as with writing, pretty near everything has been done. What is important for me is the feel of a cohesive well thought out style brought to the photograph to make it your own artwork.

Composition is great with the bug sitting happily near a rule of thirds point, the diagonal adds oomph to the shot with the small stems leading back to the focal point. The only minor tweak I might suggest would be to extend the DOF a hair further back on the bug. The sharp focus stems start a bit far away from the focus and steal a little bit of attention.

Impact I judge as if the photo were a book cover. Does it make me stop and take a second look. What story is it telling me? Even if it were in the browse section, I would have stopped to take a closer look.

On the whole this is a marvellous photograph. I enjoyed the opportunity to take a closer look at it.
